Every six years, Educators always wait for the new Deped Secretary who will manage the largest department of the Philippine Government. They were hoping for changes that will benefit the entire educational system and the goodness of stakeholders.

Looking back with some educational changes in our country, based from Wiki Pilipinas the introduction of MAKABAYAN was the major feature of the restructuring of the Basic Education Curriculum in 2002. Its implementation emphasize reading, writing, arithmetic, science and MAKABAYAN where four subject are integrated such as Edukasyong Pantahanan at Pangkabuhayan(EPP), Heograpiya, Kasaysayan at Sibika (HEKASI), Musika, Sining at Edukasyong Pangkatawan at Character Education.

It was 2003 when Brigada Eskwela was introduced by Deped Secretary Edilberto C. De Jesus through Deped Memorandum No. 79 s. 2003 which aims to encourage external stakeholders to be a part of National Maintenance Week by sharing their manpower skills or voluntary give some financial assistance to the school.

To upgrade Educational System and to become globally competitive new curriculum was born through Republic Act no. 10533 known as An Act Enhancing the Philippine Basic Curriculum System By Strengthening Its Curriculum and Increasing the Number of Years for Basic Education, Appropriating Funds Therefor and for Other Purpose in short the K to 12 Curriculum.

The appointment of Dr. Leonor Magtolis Briones served as a new hope for all educators who experienced dissatisfaction on the previous administration. They were full of hope to prioritize the study on the implementation of K to 12 Curriculum, Daily Lesson Log, six-hour teaching load and most of all salary increase.

Facing into the reality that the problem mentioned above are the most talked on the social media especially the implementation of K to 12 were they feel that our country is not yet ready for the curriculum changes. The problem was enumerated by the teacher from the first implementation up to this moment. First in the list is the classroom to be utilized in full implementation of the curriculum followed by lack or delayed distribution of Learning Materials, Curriculum Guide and the Teachers Guide.

And now, the Road for Education Changes start and we as an educators having a positive mind pushing the development of our dreams leading to the realization of the mission and vision of the department.
